Course Information

A bit about the courses…..

The courses are very long and in-depth however they have been made in real time whilst creating the actual tracks you hear and finally produce. This method has produced its very own unique challenges and it has been, indeed, a great adventure compiling them.

The simple matter of creating a track that people find good enough to emulate was a challenge in itself, never mind creating a complete course from scratch on how to repeat it.

The first logistical issue that popped up was the software/hardware, what to use, what not to use. I finally decided on using the software I would use if I was at home producing for myself as this was the only way to get the best from me, by using the tools I knew best. This in itself could cause several problems due to the fact that I have some hardware/software tools that I knew for a fact most people would not have at their disposal, these are namely the Access Virus TI and a U.A.D 1 card. The fact that I use these tools shouldn’t, and I guessed, wouldn’t put people off as most people who understand even the very basics know that you can use other tools to get a close approximation of any other tool. By this I mean if I use EQ 1, you can use EQ 2 and get similar results, enough to complete the course anyway.

The only other real problem I faced was me, I tend to forget to talk or “um and agh” through certain things, especially when I get engrossed in what I am doing, I tend to forget where I am! Regarding this I have edited the video to try and cut most of this out and keep the videos “to the point” but inevitably there are definitely some still in there which, to be honest, I think helps people using the videos get to know me a little better which can only be a good thing (hopefully they don’t get sick of me!).

To say this has been a challenge is an understatement but I hope you will find the videos very helpful and that they help propel you onto your own music production journey of which I am sure you will have a fruitful one.

One last thing I have to say then I shall retreat, the videos/courses are very difficult and will take a lot of hard work and time (there are around 9 hours of videos and if you’re one of the lucky ones another 10 hours worth of Cubase videos). They were very time consuming for me (over 2 months from start to finish). I had to learn new technologies in video recording and video editing as well as video compression and conversion. It has been a joy to see a small idea blossom into what it has become and I am excited at the prospect of the launch tomorrow and can’t wait for a rest!

All in all it has been great fun, hard work and enlightening, I hope, at the very least you will experience these things while working through the course/s and feel a sense of accomplishment and achievment when you finally complete the course. I wish you all the best in what ever walk of life you hail from, may you be happy in whatever you do and most of all may you continue to create music that is a compliment to your human spirit, your sense of adventure and most of all your dreams.
